Math and measurement tools
Scientific Calculator
Calculate expressions with powers, roots, trigonometry, logarithms and factorials. Use a touch-friendly keypad, choose degrees or radians, and copy or print results.

How to use this tool
1. Type an expression or use the keypad. Use * for multiplication and parentheses for functions: 2*pi, 2*(3+4) and sin(30). Selecting text and pressing a function key wraps that selection.
2. Choose Degrees or Radians before calculating. Inverse trig functions return angles in the selected mode too.
3. Select Calculate or press Enter in the expression field. Copy or print the expression, angle mode and result. Use result in expression reuses the full computed precision for another calculation.
Order of operations
Parentheses and functions are evaluated first, followed by factorial and percent, powers, leading signs, multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. Powers associate to the right: 2^3^2 means 2^(3^2). A leading minus follows a power: -2^2 is -4, while (-2)^2 is 4.
Worked example
In Degrees mode, sin(30) + sqrt(16) + 2^3 = 0.5 + 4 + 8 = 12.5. In Radians mode, sin(pi/2) is 1. The displayed angle mode is included in copy and print reports.
Questions and assumptions
Functions and constants
Use sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sqrt, cbrt, abs, ln, log and exp with parentheses. log is base 10; ln is base e; exp(x) is e^x. pi and e are constants. cbrt(-8) gives -2. Factorial accepts whole numbers from 0 to 170. Scientific notation such as 1.5e3 is supported.
What does the percent key mean?
Percent is a postfix divide-by-100 operation, not a percentage-change shortcut. Thus 10% is 0.1 and 100 + 10% is 100.1. For discounts, increases or questions such as “15% of 240”, use the dedicated percentage calculator.
Precision and limits
This is a real-number floating-point calculator, not symbolic algebra. Results display up to 12 significant digits, with scientific notation for very small or large values. Rounding and underflow can affect extreme values. Inputs are limited to 500 characters, 200 tokens and 32 nested operations. Undefined domains, division by zero and overflow produce errors. 0^0 is treated as undefined; implicit multiplication and double factorial are not supported.
Private expression evaluation
Expressions are parsed as a restricted mathematical language. They are never executed as JavaScript. Inputs and results stay on your device and are not saved in browser storage or sent to analytics.
