How to use this tool

1. Choose Countdown or Stopwatch. For a countdown, enter hours, minutes and seconds or choose a preset. Optionally enable the finish sound before starting.

2. Start and use Pause or Resume as needed. In stopwatch mode, Lap records the total elapsed time and the split since the previous lap.

3. Pause or finish to copy or print a stable record. Reset starts a new session. Keep the page open; navigation and refresh clear it.

How elapsed time is measured

The tool compares device-clock timestamps with the start time, adding earlier elapsed time when resumed. Display updates do not determine elapsed time, so delayed browser ticks do not accumulate as timer drift. Device-clock changes still affect the result.

Worked example

A 5-minute countdown paused after 2 minutes has about 3 minutes remaining. Resuming counts down those remaining minutes. Stopwatch laps at 12.3 and 25.0 seconds have splits of 12.3 and 12.7 seconds.

Questions and assumptions

Will it notify me in the background?

The finish sound is optional and depends on browser audio support. Background tabs, device sleep or page unloading can delay or prevent the signal. Returning to the open page updates the display from its timestamps. This page is not a guaranteed background alarm.

Limits and privacy

Countdowns run from 1 second to 24 hours. The stopwatch stops at 24 hours and records up to 100 laps. Settings changes reset the session. There are no push notifications, account requirements or saved sessions. Print and copy are available only while paused or finished.
