How to use this tool
1. Choose a length and at least one character group. Start with 20 characters; adapt to the destination’s requirements. Every selected group will be represented.
2. Generate a fresh password. It stays hidden until you choose Show password. Generate again to replace it.
3. Copy only when ready, then save it in your password manager. Clear removes it from the page but does not change your clipboard.
How generation works
The browser’s Web Crypto API supplies random values. Rejection sampling avoids favouring particular characters. Complete candidates are retried until every selected group is represented. Generation stops with an error if secure randomness cannot complete; there is no weak-random fallback.
A practical starting point
The generator starts at 20 characters and uses lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and symbols. Keep the full length when the account allows it. Generate a different password for each account and save it in your password manager.
Questions and assumptions
Privacy and clipboard behaviour
Passwords are generated only after you request them. They are not placed in URLs, sent to the server, saved in browser storage or included in print reports. A visible password field is omitted from ordinary page printing. Copying places the value on the operating-system clipboard, which can be accessible to other apps or clipboard history.
Limits and account security
Choose 8–128 characters and at least one group. Excluding similar characters removes I, l, 1, O, 0 and o. Symbols come from the displayed set. This is a generator, not a password manager or breach checker; it makes no crack-time guarantee. A secure device and unique passwords still matter.
