How to use this tool
1. Enter one name or option per line. Use distinct labels if two people share a name, or load the sample list to try it.
2. Set the number to select. Enable removal if previously picked entries should stay out of later draws in this session.
3. Press Pick names. Restore full list to start a new round; changing the list also resets the eligible pool.
How the random choice works
The tool shuffles eligible entries with Fisher–Yates and selects the requested count from the start. Every distinct entry has equal opportunity. Selected entries cannot repeat within that draw. Optional removal carries the remaining pool into the next draw.
Worked example
With Alex, Blair, Casey and Devon, a draw of two selects two different people. If removal is enabled, the next draw uses only the two people not selected. The tool stops once the pool is exhausted.
Questions and assumptions
Scope and assumptions
Blank lines are ignored and repeated labels are rejected, including differences in case. The tool does not weight entries, verify identities or provide a certified prize-draw audit. Lists and results exist only in this browser page.
Can a result be predicted or proved?
The browser supplies cryptographic random values, with no fallback to Math.random. If that source is unavailable, the tool reports an error. Repeated outcomes can happen naturally. A locally editable page and its printout are not independent proof of a draw; no signed server record is created.
